Yaya’s Tips for Success

  • Use fresh or frozen vegetables, but be sure to drain and pat them dry to prevent a watery casserole.
  • Mix in a combination of cheeses like cheddar, mozzarella, or parmesan for extra flavor.
  • Bake the casserole uncovered for a crispier topping, or cover it for a softer, creamier finish.
  • Let it cool for 5–10 minutes after baking to allow the casserole to set.

Yaya’s Customization Ideas

  • Add cooked rice, quinoa, or pasta to make the casserole more filling.
  • For added protein, stir in cooked chicken, turkey, or crumbled sausage.
  • Sprinkle breadcrumbs or crushed crackers mixed with butter on top for extra crunch.
  • Use a variety of vegetables like broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and bell peppers to keep it colorful and flavorful.
