Yaya’s Tips for Success
- Use fresh or frozen vegetables, but be sure to drain and pat them dry to prevent a watery casserole.
- Mix in a combination of cheeses like cheddar, mozzarella, or parmesan for extra flavor.
- Bake the casserole uncovered for a crispier topping, or cover it for a softer, creamier finish.
- Let it cool for 5–10 minutes after baking to allow the casserole to set.
Yaya’s Customization Ideas
- Add cooked rice, quinoa, or pasta to make the casserole more filling.
- For added protein, stir in cooked chicken, turkey, or crumbled sausage.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs or crushed crackers mixed with butter on top for extra crunch.
- Use a variety of vegetables like broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and bell peppers to keep it colorful and flavorful.
