Yaya’s Tips for Success

When mixing such a large batch of BBQ sauce, be sure to use a container big enough to allow for plenty of stirring space. The sugar and salt need to dissolve completely so you don’t end up with a gritty texture.

  • Use a whisk to blend ingredients thoroughly.
  • Make sure to taste as you go. If you prefer it sweeter, add a little more brown sugar.
  • A glass container helps the sauce keep its bright flavor longer.

Yaya’s Customization Ideas

This BBQ sauce is vinegar-forward with a tangy bite, perfect for pulled pork or chicken.

If you like a smoky touch, stir in a tablespoon of liquid smoke. For extra heat, increase the red pepper flakes. You can also reduce the vinegar for a slightly thicker sauce.
