Yaya’s Tips for Success

Hot cocoa is all about balance and patience. Using a double boiler helps keep the cocoa smooth and prevents scorching, giving you a velvety cup every time.

  • Always stir well when adding water to cocoa so no lumps remain.
  • Allowing the cocoa to sit over hot water for a few minutes really deepens the flavor.
  • Taste before serving and adjust sugar for sweetness.
  • A small pinch of salt can enhance the chocolate taste.

Yaya’s Customization Ideas

This recipe is simple and classic, but you can dress it up to fit the occasion.

  • A drop of peppermint extract makes it festive during the holidays, while a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg adds warmth on a cold day.
  • For an extra treat, top with whipped cream or marshmallows.
