Ingredients

  • 8 to 10 lb. ready-to-eat boneless ham
  • Whole cloves
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp prepared mustard
  • 1 tbsp maple flavoring

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • Place ham, fat side up, on a rack in a shallow, open roasting pan. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part.
  • Bake uncovered for 2½ to 3 hours. Remove from oven to glaze.
  • Increase oven temperature to 450°F. Carefully remove skin from the ham. Using a sharp knife, cut fat into a diamond pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat. Insert cloves at the intersections of the diamonds.
  • Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, mustard, and maple flavoring. Spread half of the glaze over the ham.
  • Bake 10 minutes, then spread remaining glaze and bake another 10 minutes until glossy and caramelized.
  • Let rest before slicing.
