Ingredients
1cupsugar
1cupwater
2cupsfresh orange juiceabout 3–4 oranges
1orange rindgrated
1pintcold water
Ice cubes for serving
Instructions
Wash the oranges thoroughly and grate the rind from one orange.
Squeeze the oranges to collect 2 cups of fresh juice.
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, 1 cup of water, and grated rind. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool.
Once cooled, add the fresh orange juice and 1 pint of cold water. Stir well.
Chill thoroughly, or serve immediately over ice cubes in glasses.
